2121 AN ACT REQUIRING REPORTING OF FIREARM INVENTORY.

2323 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

2525 That chapter 529 of the general statutes be amended to require any person, sole proprietorship, partnership, firm, corporation or other form of business or legal entity that sells or manufactures firearms in this state to report a physical inventory of such firearms to the Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection. If any firearm cannot be matched to a legal purchaser or transferee, the licensed seller or manufacturer shall be required to furnish proof that said firearm was transferred or disposed of legally. If such seller or manufacturer fails to comply with these inventory requirements, the Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection shall impose a fine with proceeds allocated to support the inventory program.
