AN ACT CONCERNING MANSLAUGHTER OF A CHILD.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That section 53a-55 of the general statutes be amended to impose an increased maximum penalty of forty years imprisonment for any person found guilty of manslaughter in the first degree under subdivision (1) of subsection (a) of said section 53a-55 where the victim is under sixteen years of age.
Statement of Purpose:
To impose an increased maximum penalty for manslaughter of a person under sixteen years of age for consistency with the increased maximum penalty set forth for murder with special circumstances for murder of a person under sixteen years of age.
