AN ACT CONCERNING SMALL BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT AND UNEMPLOYMENT BENEFITS. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That the general statutes be amended to allow time spent developing a new business to count toward the requirement that persons receiving unemployment benefits be actively looking for work. Statement of Purpose: To encourage small business development and facilitate job creation by allowing individuals receiving unemployment benefits to continue to receive such benefits if such individuals are actively engaged in developing a new business.
