AN ACT CONCERNING PART-TIME EMPLOYMENT AND UNEMPLOYMENT COMPENSATION.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to enable individuals formerly employed in permanent part-time positions to collect unemployment benefits while searching for another permanent part-time position.
Statement of Purpose:
To allow individuals formerly employed in a permanent, part-time position to collect unemployment while looking for another permanent part-time position. The current statutory scheme requires such employees to seek full-time work in order to be eligible for unemployment benefits.
