AN ACT CONCERNING CHILD PORNOGRAPHY.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
Section 1. Section 53a-193 of the general statutes is amended by adding subdivision (16) as follows (Effective October 1, 2013):
(NEW) (16) "Possess" means to have physical possession or otherwise to exercise dominion or control over tangible property, and includes to access visual depictions of child pornography in any format or location.

Statement of Purpose:
To revise the definition of "possess" for purposes of offenses concerning the possession of child pornography.
