2626 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

2828 Section 1. (Effective July 1, 2013) (a) The Commissioner on Aging, in consultation with the Commissioner of Social Services and the Commission on Aging, shall conduct a study of state services to the aging population.

3030 (b) The study shall include, but not be limited to: (1) Demographic projections of the percentage of the state's population that will be fifty-five years of age or older for each year on and after January 1, 2014, and ending January 1, 2034; (2) an inventory of state and federally funded programs for persons fifty-five years of age or older; (3) an assessment of the need for programs to serve persons fifty-five years of age or older; and (4) an analysis of any gaps in services.

3232 (c) Not later than January 1, 2014, the Commissioner on Aging, in accordance with the provisions of section 11-4a of the general statutes, shall submit a report with the results of the study to the joint standing committees of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to aging, human services, housing and public health.
