24 | 24 | AN ACT CONCERNING THE AVAILABILITY AND USE OF CERTAIN DEVICES TO ADMINISTER ANTIEPILEPTIC MEDICATION. | |

26 | 26 | Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: | |

28 | 28 | Section 1. (NEW) (Effective October 1, 2013) Each hospital, outpatient surgical facility and outpatient clinic, shall maintain on the premises of such hospital, facility or clinic one diazepam antiepileptic medication delivery device, and make the location of said device known to employees of the hospital, facility or clinic. The hospital, facility or clinic shall ensure that employees of such hospital, facility or clinic who provide direct health care services are trained by a qualified, licensed health care provider in the use of said device. | |

30 | 30 | Sec. 2. (NEW) (Effective October 1, 2013) Each ambulance or rescue vehicle used by an ambulance or rescue service registered with the Department of Motor Vehicles pursuant to chapter 246 of the general statutes shall maintain in such vehicle one diazepam antiepileptic medication delivery device, and make the location of said device known to employees who may work in such vehicle. The ambulance or rescue service shall ensure that its employees who provide medical services are trained by a qualified, licensed health care provider in the use of said device. | |
