AN ACT CONCERNING NOTICE TO PATIENTS OF THE COST TO COPY OR TRANSFER MEDICAL RECORDS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That chapter 369 of the general statutes be amended to require health care providers to give notice to patients of the cost to copy or transfer medical records.
Statement of Purpose:
To prevent patients from incurring hidden charges for the necessary transfer of medical records while allowing health care providers to charge an appropriate amount for the service.
