AN ACT CONCERNING PENSION PRESERVATION.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to reduce the assumed rate of return on investments in the State Employees Retirement Fund to the federally-mandated level, require all new state employees to participate in a defined contribution benefit plan and study the current benefit and contribution levels in the state employees retirement system to safeguard the system for future retirees. 

Statement of Purpose: 

To enact the Pension Preservation Act to safeguard retirement benefits for future state retirees.
