AN ACT PROVIDING AN ADDITIONAL EXEMPTION FROM THE MOTOR VEHICLE TAX FOR MARRIED MEMBERS OF THE ARMED FORCES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That subdivision (53) of section 12-81 of the general statutes be amended to allow a married member of the armed forces to claim an exemption from the motor vehicle tax for two, rather than one, vehicles.
Statement of Purpose:
To extend the motor vehicle tax exemption to a second vehicle for members of the armed forces who are married and own or lease a second vehicle for their spouses.
