AN ACT CLARIFYING THE DEFINITION OF INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to change the definition of independent contractor to exclude any individual that is paid hourly, whose tools are provided by the person paying the worker, or who otherwise acts at the specific direction of the payor.
Statement of Purpose:
To clarify the rule regarding when a person is an independent contractor or subcontractor as opposed to an employee.
