AN ACT CONCERNING READING PROFICIENCY FOR STUDENTS IN GRADE THREE.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That section 10-14u of the general statutes be amended to provide extended school day and school year services to students in grade three who are in danger of not achieving proficiency in reading and to retain any student in grade three who is unable to demonstrate proficiency in reading.
Statement of Purpose:
To enhance the opportunity for students in grade three to achieve reading proficiency.
