AN ACT CONCERNING EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS TO QUALIFY FOR THE FILM PRODUCTION TAX CREDIT. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That section 12-217jj of the general statutes be amended to require that (1) thirty-five per cent of all union crews, including core crew and day players, working on a qualified production shall be state residents, (2) thirty-five per cent of all nonunion production and office staff shall be state residents, and (3) there shall be parity between the wages and benefits paid to state residents and those paid to other similarly situated employees on the production. Statement of Purpose: To require those availing themselves of the film production tax credit to hire state residents and pay them on par with other employees.
