AN ACT CONCERNING THE SAFE DRIVING PRACTICES COURSE FOR NEW DRIVERS OVER THE AGE OF EIGHTEEN.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the Commissioner of Motor Vehicles (1) conduct a review of the affordability and effectiveness of the safe driving practices course for applicants for motor vehicle operator's licenses who are over the age of eighteen, (2) develop alternatives to such course for such applicants, and (3) not later than September 1, 2013, present the findings of such review and any such alternatives, in accordance with the provisions of section 11-4a of the general statutes, to the joint standing committee of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to transportation.

Statement of Purpose: 

To improve the affordability and effectiveness of home training for certain driving students in Connecticut.
