AN ACT CONCERNING CONSULTATION BETWEEN THE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION AND REGIONAL PLANNING AGENCIES PRIOR TO THE COMMENCEMENT OF CERTAIN TRANSPORTATION INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECTS. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That the general statutes be amended to require the Department of Transportation, during the planning phase of any large transportation infrastructure project conducted by the department, to consult with the regional planning agency for the area of operation within which such project is located. Such consultation shall include a review conducted by such regional planning agency and submitted to the department analyzing the local and regional economic development benefits of such project and identifying local factors, including, but not limited to, zoning and potential capital partners or investors, that could impact such project. Statement of Purpose: To maximize the economic development benefits of transportation infrastructure projects.
