AN ACT CONCERNING CITIZENSHIP STATUS VERIFICATION PRIOR TO THE ISSUANCE OF A DRIVER'S LICENSE.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to require the Commissioner of Motor Vehicles to verify, using the Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements Program service administered by the United States Department of Homeland Security, the immigration status of any applicant for a motor vehicle operator's license prior to the issuance of such license.
Statement of Purpose:
To require a Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements status check prior to the issuance of a motor vehicle operator's license.
