WALKER, 93rd Dist. (By Request) AN ACT CONCERNING THE DISCLOSURE OF THE USE OF CONFLICT MINERALS AND STATE PROCUREMENT AND INVESTMENT. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That the general statutes be amended to prohibit (1) state agencies from procuring supplies or personal services from companies that fail to disclose whether they use conflict minerals originating in the Democratic Republic of the Congo in accordance with the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, and (2) the Treasurer from investing state funds in companies that fail to make such disclosure. Statement of Purpose: To reduce armed conflict in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. [Proposed deletions are enclosed in brackets.
