AN ACT ADJUSTING THE CONTRIBUTION RATE FOR MEMBERS OF THE MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEE RETIREMENT SYSTEM.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That section 7-440 of the general statutes be amended to require an annual incremental increase in the contribution rate for members of the Municipal Employees' Retirement Fund until the annual contribution percentage of such members is equivalent to the rate of contribution assumed by the municipality under section 7-441 of the general statutes.
Statement of Purpose:
To increase the contribution rate for members of the municipal employee retirement system to be more commensurate with rates in the private sector.
