AN ACT CONCERNING ELIGIBILITY FOR PUBLIC HOUSING.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to provide that no public housing authority shall be required to accept a person with a history of criminal activity as a tenant in a public housing unit solely on the basis of a provisional pardon or similar certificate that indicates suitability for specific employment or housing.

Statement of Purpose: 

To provide that no public housing authority shall be required to accept a person with a history of criminal activity as a tenant in a public housing unit solely on the basis of a provisional pardon or similar certificate that indicates suitability for specific employment or housing.
