AN ACT CONCERNING THE SENTENCE FOR ANY PERSON WHO CAUSES DEATH OR SERIOUS PHYSICAL INJURY AS A RESULT OF OPERATION OF A MOTOR VEHICLE, VESSEL OR AIRCRAFT WHILE UNDER THE INFLUENCE. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That section 18-98e of the general statutes be amended to prohibit the award of earned risk reduction credits for any person convicted of a crime where death or serious physical injury, as defined in section 53a-3 of the general statutes, resulted while such person was operating a motor vehicle, vessel or aircraft under the influence of intoxicating liquor or drug, or both. Statement of Purpose: To prohibit the award of earned risk reduction credit to reduce the sentence of any person who caused death or serious physical injury as the result of operating a motor vehicle, vessel or aircraft while under the influence of intoxicating liquor or drug, or both.
