General Assembly Substitute Bill No. 939 January Session, 2013 *_____SB00939AGEJUD030713____* General Assembly Substitute Bill No. 939 January Session, 2013 *_____SB00939AGEJUD030713____* AN ACT CONCERNING A REGISTRY OF CRIMINAL OFFENDERS WHOSE VICTIMS ARE ELDERLY. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: Section 1. (NEW) (Effective October 1, 2013) (a) The Chief State's Attorney shall establish a registry of persons convicted of crimes against the elderly that were prosecuted on and after January 1, 2013, by the office of the Chief State's Attorney. The registry shall contain the name, birth date and last known address of each such person and a summary of each such conviction. (b) Not later than January 1, 2014, the Chief State's Attorney shall make the registry available to the public on the Internet web site of the office of the Chief State's Attorney, searchable by first and last name. The names of persons convicted of crimes against the elderly that were prosecuted by the office of the Chief State's Attorney shall remain on the registry for ten years.
