2424 AN ACT REQUIRING FREE WATER AT CERTAIN LIQUOR PERMIT PREMISES.

2626 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

2828 Section 1. (NEW) (Effective July 1, 2014) (a) The holder of an alcoholic liquor permit issued by the Department of Consumer Protection pursuant to subsection (f) or (g) of section 30-16 of the general statutes or section 30-22a, 30-23 or 30-26 of the general statutes, or an agent or such permit holder, shall furnish potable water to any person on the permit premises requesting such water.

3030 (b) Potable water furnished by a permittee or such permittee's agent pursuant to subsection (a) of this section shall be furnished at the permittee's expense. A permittee or such permittee's agent shall not be required to furnish such water during the hours and days that the sale or dispensing of alcoholic liquor is prohibited pursuant to subsection (a) of section 30-91 of the general statutes. Such potable water shall meet all federal and state requirements concerning purity of drinking water and shall be supplied in a receptacle suitable to permit the individual consumption of not less than twelve ounces per serving.

3232 (c) The Department of Consumer Protection may, in its discretion, suspend, revoke or refuse to renew an alcoholic liquor permit pursuant to subsection (a) of section 30-47 of the general statutes if the department has reasonable cause to believe a permittee has violated any provision of this section.
