AN ACT ESTABLISHING A SEASON FOR THE TAKING OF GLASS EELS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
Section 1. Section 26-128a of the general statutes is repealed and the following is substituted in lieu thereof (Effective January 1, 2015):
(a) No person shall take or attempt to take any [elver eel, glass eel or] silver eel from the waters of the state. Any person who violates the provisions of this section shall be fined not more than two hundred fifty dollars.
(b) Not later than January 1, 2015, the Commissioner of Energy and Environmental Protection shall adopt regulations, in accordance with the provisions of chapter 54, to establish a season for the taking of glass eels.
This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections:
