Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: Section 1. (Effective from passage) The Department of Economic and Community Development shall conduct a study to examine the workforce training needs of the manufacturing industry. Such study shall include, but not be limited to, (1) a survey of all manufacturing businesses in the state to determine current, mid-term and long-term job-specific training needs for skilled manufacturing employees, and (2) recommendations for how to meet such training needs. Not later than January 1, 2015, the department shall report on such study, in accordance with the provisions of section 11-4a of the general statutes, to the joint standing committees of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to commerce and labor.
