AN ACT CONCERNING MUNICIPAL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT DIRECTORS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That title 7 of the general statutes be amended to provide that municipalities having economic development directors require that such directors be hired by and report to the chief elected official and to prohibit a municipal planning and development office or department from employing such directors.
Statement of Purpose:
To prevent a conflict of interest by requiring economic development activities to be separate from planning and development activities.
