AN ACT CREATING AN OFFICE OF THE INSPECTOR GENERAL.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to establish an Office of the Inspector General: (1) To detect and prevent fraud, waste and abuse in the management of state personnel, in the use and disposition of state property, and in the collection, disbursement and expenditure of state and federal funds administered by governmental agencies, and (2) to evaluate the economy, efficiency and effectiveness of governmental agencies in the performance of their duties and functions.
Statement of Purpose:
To detect and prevent fraud, waste and abuse in state government.
