AN ACT CONCERNING STATE RETIREE HEALTH INSURANCE PREMIUMS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That section 5-259 of the general statutes be amended to require that each member of any state-sponsored retirement system, or alternate retirement program described in subsection (d) of said section, contribute to the cost of the premium for such member's form of health insurance coverage an amount, calculated on a sliding scale, that is based on the member's income.
Statement of Purpose:
To help offset the cost of providing retiree health care benefits to all state retirees.
