AN ACT CONCERNING THE USE OF THERAPY DOGS IN CRIMINAL PROSECUTIONS. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That chapter 961 of the general statutes be amended to provide that in any criminal prosecution involving an alleged violent crime and testimony from a victim of such crime, such victim shall be permitted to be accompanied by a therapy dog while testifying in the criminal prosecution, provided such dog is not visible to the jury. Statement of Purpose: To allow a therapy dog to accompany a victim of an alleged violent crime when such victim is testifying in court concerning events related to the criminal prosecution.
