AN ACT APPROPRIATING STATE FUNDS FOR THE BILINGUAL MULTIMEDIA NEWSROOM PROJECT.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the sum of three hundred ten thousand dollars be appropriated to the Department of Economic and Community Development, from the General Fund, for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2016, for a grant to the Bilingual Multimedia Newsroom Project to develop a model not-for-profit bilingual newsroom that produces public interest news reporting and civic debate in English and Spanish online, in print and on the radio.
Statement of Purpose:
To provide state funding to develop a model not-for-profit bilingual newsroom that informs and brings together both the Latino and the broader communities.
