2424 AN ACT CONCERNING FILINGS WITH THE STATE ELECTIONS ENFORCEMENT COMMISSION.

2626 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

2828 That sections 9-603 and 9-608 of the general statutes be amended to require that (1) committees, candidates or treasurers presently mandated by law to file statements or certifications with the town clerk of the municipality in which the election or referendum is to be held shall instead electronically file such statements or certifications with the State Elections Enforcement Commission, and (2) (A) the five-year limit on retention as public records of such filed treasurer statements by such town clerks shall be eliminated, and (B) the duty of retaining such records shall be transferred to the State Elections Enforcement Commission.
