2626 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

28-Section 1. Section 38a-316d of the general statutes is amended by adding subsection (d) as follows (Effective October 1, 2015):

28+That title 38a of the general statutes be amended to require insurers that deliver, issue for delivery, renew, amend or endorse homeowners insurance policies in this state to pay an insured, whose insured property is uninhabitable as a result of a covered loss, the full amount of any additional living expense or loss of use coverage under the policy until such coverage is exhausted or thirty days after the insured receives a certificate of occupancy for the insured property, whichever is earlier, unless the insurer determines the claim is fraudulent.
