AN ACT REQUIRING THE PROVISION OF AN EXPLANATION OF BENEFITS FOR PHARMACY SERVICES RECEIVED BY AN INSURED. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That title 38a of the general statutes be amended to require health insurance companies, health care centers, fraternal benefit society, hospital service corporation, medical service corporation or other entity, delivering, issuing for delivery, renewing, amending or continuing an individual or group health insurance policy in this state providing coverage of the type specified in subdivisions (1), (2), (4), (11), (12) and (16) of section 38a-469 of the general statutes and that provides coverage for prescription drugs, or pharmacy benefit managers, to provide on a quarterly basis to each insured who receives pharmacy services an explanation of benefits for such services. Statement of Purpose: To require health insurers or pharmacy benefit managers to provide on a quarterly basis to each insured who receives pharmacy services an explanation of benefits for such services.
