AN ACT CONCERNING REVISIONS TO THE DEFINITION OF EQUALIZED NET GRAND LIST FOR PURPOSES OF THE CALCULATION OF THE EDUCATION COST-SHARING GRANT.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That subdivision (8) of section 10-262f of the general statutes be amended to revise the definition of "equalized net grand list" to reduce a town's equalized net grand list number for purposes of calculating such town's equalization aid grant, pursuant to section 10-262h of the general statutes, if such town is (1) among the highest twenty-fifth percentile among all towns in the state ranked from lowest to highest in equalized net grand list, and (2) among the lowest fiftieth percentile among all towns in the state ranked from lowest to highest in median household income; and further that section 10-262h of the general statutes be amended to prevent a town from receiving a lower education cost-sharing grant as a result of the revisions to the definition of "equalized net grand list" and that such revisions only be applicable to the amount of any increase in the appropriation for the education cost-sharing grant.
Statement of Purpose:
To amend the definition of "equalized net grand list" for purposes of calculating the education cost-sharing grant.
