AN ACT REQUIRING THE FURNISHING OF BOATING SAFETY INFORMATION TO PERSONS PURCHASING OR RENTING A WATERCRAFT THAT DOES NOT REQUIRE A BOATING SAFETY COURSE PRIOR TO OPERATION.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to require the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection to provide boating safety information to any person who purchases or rents a watercraft that does not otherwise require a boating safety course prior to operation.

Statement of Purpose: 

To promote boating safety in the state on both public and private waterways.
