2424 AN ACT CONCERNING A PUBLIC-PRIVATE PARTNERSHIP TO FOSTER CRADLE-TO-CAREER SUCCESS.

2626 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

2828 That title 17b of the general statutes be amended to authorize the Commissioner of Social Services, in consultation with the Office of Early Childhood and the Commissioners of Education, Labor and Public Health, to establish a grant program within available state and federal resources to fund a pilot, data-driven project in Bridgeport, Norwalk, Stamford and Waterbury to strengthen outcomes in areas including, but not limited to: (1) Infant health, (2) kindergarten readiness, (3) third grade reading, (4) middle grade reading and math, (5) high school completion, (6) reduced exposure to violence, (7) post-secondary enrollment and completion, and (8) youth employment.
