AN ACT CONCERNING THE LABOR DEPARTMENT AND OVERPAYMENTS OF UNEMPLOYMENT COMPENSATION BENEFITS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to require the Labor Department to review its current system for awarding unemployment compensation benefits in order to reduce the risk of overpayments and to assure individuals receiving such benefits that their benefit amount is accurate.

Statement of Purpose: 

To reduce the risk of overpayments and to improve accuracy in Connecticut's unemployment compensation system.
