AN ACT CONCERNING NEW STATE EMPLOYEES WHO ARE EXEMPT FROM CLASSIFIED SERVICE AND DEFINED CONTRIBUTION RETIREMENT PLANS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to require all state employees and officials who are hired after June 30, 2015, and are exempt from classified service to participate in a defined contribution retirement plan rather than the current defined benefit system.
Statement of Purpose:
To provide financial relief to the state by shifting certain state employees to a defined contribution retirement plan.
