AN ACT CONCERNING MUNICIPAL EMPLOYERS, UNEMPLOYMENT COMPENSATION AND THE APPEALS PROCESS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to require that any unemployment compensation benefits that have been paid to an individual and are the subject of an appeal be reimbursed to the municipal employer if such municipal employer prevails in the appeals process.

Statement of Purpose: 

To ensure that municipal employers are reimbursed for any unemployment benefits paid to an individual if, upon appeal, it is determined that the individual had no claim to such benefits.
