2424 AN ACT CONCERNING LOTTERY WINNERS WHO ARE TAX DELINQUENT.

2626 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

2828 That chapter 226 of the general statutes be amended to require that, when any person redeems a winning lottery ticket worth ten thousand dollars or more, the Connecticut Lottery Corporation shall (1) check the name and other identifying information of such person against a state tax delinquency database, and (2) if such person is included on the list of tax obligors, withhold from the lottery winnings payable to such person the amount of such tax obligation.
