AN ACT REQUIRING FUNDS FROM THE BUDGET RESERVE FUND AND ANY EXCESS REVENUE TO BE USED TO PAY INTEREST RELATED TO STATE BORROWING FOR UNEMPLOYMENT COMPENSATION BENEFITS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to require that funds from the Budget Reserve Fund and any excess revenue be used to pay any interest due on amounts the state borrows from the federal government for unemployment compensation benefits.

Statement of Purpose: 

To eliminate future imposition of special assessments on businesses to pay interest on amounts borrowed from the federal government for unemployment compensation benefits.
