AN ACT INCREASING THE NUMBER OF INTERNSHIPS AND SUMMER JOBS FOR LOW-INCOME YOUTH THROUGHOUT CONNECTICUT.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to increase the number of federally and state-funded internships and summer jobs for low-income youth in urban and rural areas with the highest youth unemployment rates and to implement a lottery system for internships and summer job programs to ensure there is no nepotism involved in hiring for such internships and jobs.

Statement of Purpose: 

To increase the number of internships and summer jobs for low-income youth in Connecticut.
