AN ACT CONCERNING FALSE REPORTING OF EMERGENCIES.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That title 53a of the general statutes be amended to require a person convicted of falsely reporting emergencies to bear the full cost of the response, except if such person is a minor in which case the parent of such minor shall reimburse the town or first responders.

Statement of Purpose: 

To deter swatting and reimburse towns and first responders for associated costs.
