AN ACT CONCERNING MANDATORY MINIMUM SENTENCING IN THE CASE OF A POLICE OFFICER SHOOTING AN UNARMED PERSON.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That title 53a of the general statutes be amended to provide that any police officer found guilty of shooting an unarmed person serve at least twenty-five years in prison.

Statement of Purpose: 

To provide that any police officer found guilty of shooting an unarmed person serve at least twenty-five years in prison.
