AN ACT CONCERNING JOINT CUSTODY OF A MINOR CHILD WHEN A PROTECTIVE ORDER HAS BEEN ENTERED.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That section 46b-56 of the general statutes be amended to provide that the entry of a no contact protective order relating to the parents of a minor child shall not, in and of itself, bar the court from ordering that such parents have joint custody of the minor child.
Statement of Purpose:
To allow the ordering of joint custody when the parents have a protective order of no contact.
