AN ACT CONCERNING A DEFENDANT'S ABILITY TO RECOVER LITIGATION COSTS WHEN AN OFFER OF COMPROMISE IS REJECTED BY A PLAINTIFF.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That subsection (b) of section 52-195 of the general statutes be amended to allow a defendant to recover certain litigation costs when an advantageous offer of compromise is rejected by a plaintiff.
Statement of Purpose:
To encourage settlement of civil actions.
