AN ACT LIMITING PROPERTY TAX INCREASES FOR SENIORS AND INDIVIDUALS LIVING ON FIXED INCOMES.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to cap property tax increases to a percentage not to exceed the corresponding Social Security per cent increases in the most recent benefit year for seniors and individuals living on a fixed percentage who (1) have lived in the municipality for ten years; and (2) derive at least two-thirds of their net income from Social Security.

Statement of Purpose: 

To limit property tax increases for seniors and individuals living on fixed incomes.
