AN ACT DOUBLING THE FINES FOR MOVING MOTOR VEHICLE VIOLATIONS OCCURRING IN EMERGENCY RESPONSE AREAS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That chapter 248 of the general statutes be amended to require the Superior Court to impose an additional fee equivalent to two times the fine established or imposed for the violation of the provisions of section 14-218a, 14-219, 14-220, 14-222, 14-223, 14-227a, 14-230a, 14-231, 14-232, 14-233, 14-234, 14-235, 14-236, 14-237, 14-238, 14-238a, 14-239, 14-240, 14-241, 14-242 or 14-243 of the general statutes for any such violation committed at the scene of an accident that public safety, fire or emergency personnel have designated as such with flares.
Statement of Purpose:
To ensure the safety of public safety, fire and emergency personnel when they respond to an accident scene designated with flares.
