AN ACT CONCERNING REIMBURSEMENT OF THE COST OF CERTIFYING AND TRAINING A POLICE OFFICER.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That part I of chapter 104 of the general statutes be amended to require whenever a police officer obtains certification while employed by a law enforcement unit and is subsequently hired by another law enforcement unit within three years of such officer obtaining such certification, the law enforcement unit hiring the police officer shall reimburse the initial law enforcement unit the cost of certifying and training such officer.
Statement of Purpose:
To reimburse law enforcement units that pay the cost of certifying and training a police officer if such officer gains employment with a different law enforcement unit within three years of such officer's certification.
