AN ACT CONCERNING SCHOOL LUNCH MENUS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That chapter 169 of the general statutes be amended to (1) require local and regional boards of education to include on school lunch menus (A) the four main allergens of wheat, dairy, egg and soy; (B) the carbohydrate count for each menu item; and (C) the maximum amounts of calories, saturated fat, sodium and trans fat as approved by the USDA; and (2) require that school lunch menus be distributed to students and made available on the school district's Internet web site. 

Statement of Purpose: 

To ensure the safety of students by managing any existing medical conditions.
