AN ACT CONCERNING RECOMMENDATIONS FROM THE JUVENILE JUSTICE POLICY AND OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That section 46b-121n of the general statutes be amended to provide that the Juvenile Justice Policy and Oversight Committee continue its assessment of existing state agencies and operational systems within the state which manage, oversee, collaborate and operate directly relating to the Connecticut juvenile justice system. The committee shall review, during the period from January 1, 2016, to December 31, 2018, inclusive, at a minimum, the Department of Education, the Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services, the Judicial Department, the Department of Children and Families, related statutes and regulations, diversion procedures, recidivism tracking and policy, and alternative education programs.

Statement of Purpose: 

To require the Juvenile Justice Policy and Oversight Committee to continue its review of the state's juvenile justice system.
